Ellen Janet Giacomelli, 79, of Ladd, died at 5:40 AM August 3, 2016 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
Mrs. Giacomelli was born in Ohio, IL on September 29, 1936 to William and Ellen Pearl (Hannan) Anderson. She grew up in Ohio and graduated from Madonna High School in Aurora, IL. She then enrolled at Stephen’s College in Columbia, MO. Upon graduation, she met and married Richard Giacomelli on September 8, 1954 who was completing Pharmacy School at St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
In 1956, they returned to Ladd to own and operate Ladd Pharmacy.
Mrs. Giacomelli is survived by her husband Richard of Ladd; one son John Giacomelli of Ladd; two daughters, Colleen Giacomelli of Boston, MA and Sue Ellen (Matt) Murrey of Wellesley, MA; two grandchildren, Catherine and Ryan Murrey; one brother William (Lois) Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Mary Ann Madden.
