Ellen Hayes Poe, 68, passed away on April 10, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Y. Hayes and Pauline K. Lanier; husband, John G. Poe; sisters, Kathryn A. Roddenberry and Shelby Spain; brothers, Robert Lanier and Gary Lanier.She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and caregiver. Ellen loved her Lord and Savior, as well as her Surviving Sisters at Southside Baptist and Bible Study Fellowship ladies at Riverview Baptist. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Suffolk and Riverview Baptist Church in Giles.Ellen is survived by her children, Stephanie Huffman (Michael), John W. Poe (Nguyet), Sharon Spain (Charles), and Barbara Silva (Tony); sisters, Carolyn Clowers (Wayne), Betty Harold (David), Vicky Lanier, and Judy Barbarian; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
