Ella Margaret “Toots” Nay, 90, of Route 2, Jane Lew, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 17, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born August 13, 1920 in Buckhannon, WV the daughter of the late Rev. Aaron H. Rapking and Emma A. Poorman Rapking. She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, Paul Nay, whom she married July 09, 1938. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons; Robert Lee Nay and wife Mary Ann; Theodore Aaron Nay and wife Carol Ann; Donald Glenn Nay and wife Charlotte Marlene; two daughters; Janet Sue Hite and husband David and Deborah Ann Stutler and husband Tracy K.; twelve grandchildren; Julie Antoinette Irizarry, Margaret Katherine Sulpy, Lora Michelle DaRe, Thomas Ira Nay II, Tonda Lou DaRe, Nathaniel Aaron Nay, Kevin Easter Nay, Ladonna Kay Bingham, Deanna Lynn Deane, Heather Lynn Laick, Adam Bradley Dobbins, Clinton Eric Dobbins and twenty-one great grandchildren; Andrew Irizarry, Suzanne Irizarry, Daniel Irizarry, Karen Irizarry, Megan Elizabeth Sulpy, Katherine Anton Sulpy, Jeremy Paul DaRe, Michelle Allen DaRe, Kevin Russel DaRe, Miranda Rae DaRe, Holly Noel Richards, Ella Lindsey Bingham, Zachary Bingham, Cameron Alexander Nay, Kaleigh Elizabeth Nay, Faith Ann Deane, Megan Elizabeth Deane, Nathan Deane, Jonathan S Deane, Christian Aaron Nay, Cheyenne Naki Nay; one great great grandson, Noah; two brothers; Aaron H. Rapking, Jr. and Glenn H. Rapking. In addition to her parents Mrs. Nay was preceded in death by one son Thomas Ira Nay and brother Morrell E. Rapking. Mrs. Nay graduated from Unidis High School as Valedictorian and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a housewife, and along with her family owned and operated Nay’s Riverbend Farm, Inc. in Good Hope Community, Harrison County, WV consisting of a 440 acre dairy and general farming. Besides raising a family of four boys and two girls and helping with the farm work, Ella Margaret “Toots” had served in many offices in the church, including ten years as treasurer of the United Methodist Women and had served as financial secretary of the church for more than fifteen years. She had been a member of the Extension Homemakers Club (formerly the Farm Women’s Club) for fifty-six years and had held many offices at the local, county and state level, as well as serving on the executive board of the state organization for several years.
