Mrs. Ella Mae King was born to the parentage of Jake and Fannie Williams on Wednesday December 2, 1942 in Gosport, AL. She departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
At an early age she confessed Christ and joined the Zion Branch Baptist Church of Gosport, AL. She was a devoted choir member and church mother. She remained faithful and active in the church until her health faded.
She attended Mackey Branch School. She was a home maker.
On December 23, 1959 she married Lorenzo King. This union was blessed with six children.
She was proceeded in death by: her parents Jake and Fannie Williams, sister Authorine Buxton, and brother David Williams, granddaughter Samantha King-Lynum.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Lorenzo King of Gosport, AL; six children: Lula (Shedrick) Ely of Gosport, AL; Brenda (Samuel) Hicks of Wyandanch, NY; Dennis (Cassandra) King of Elgin, SC; James (Denay) King of Columbus, GA; Sonya King of Schertz, TX and Patricia King of Wyandanch, NY. Four sisters: Clora Bass of Prichard, AL; Augusta Mose of Prichard, AL; Pearl Bettis of Houston, TX and Louella Frank of San Antonio, TX. One brother: Edward Charles (Mary) Williams of Whistler, AL. Four brothers-in-law: Jimmie (Ruby) King Jr. of Eight Mile, AL; Herold (Mattie) King of Gosport, AL; Bryant (Carrie) King of Wyandanch, NY; and Sandy (Barbara) King of Amityville, NY. Three sisters-in-law Mary King of Saraland, AL; Barbara Williams of Harrisburg, PA; and Gloria (Charles) King-Cobb of Harrisburg, PA. Twelve grandchildren: Veronica King, Travis Ely, Samuel Hicks II, Christina Hicks, Christopher Hicks, Stephan Coleman, Crystina Rubio, Dennis King Jr, Derek King, Angel King, Noelle Lewis, and Derrick Lewis II. Thirteen great grandchildren: Emmanuel King, Kelsey King, Mikaya King, Traylen Ely, Camryn Hicks, Jordan Hicks, Zaniyia Allen, Skye Ware, Quinntin Rubio, Eli Rubio, Aydrian King-Crespo, Charli Coleman, Sydney Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
