Elizabeth (Bence) Taylor, 102, formerly of Ladd, died at 4:30 am on December 4, 2014 in Spring Valley Nursing Home.
Mrs Taylor was born in Granville on January 14, 1913 to Bert and Henrietta (Koch)Stevens. She married Howard Bence on June 10, 1931 in LaSalle and he died on March 10, 1976. She then married Ralph Taylor on June 10, 1983 and he died in 2008. Mrs Taylor worked at Westclox for 35 years before retiring. She loved to dance and play bingo.
Mrs Taylor is survived by one son, Howard R. (Diane)Bence of Princeton; two daughters, Mary Sissel of Princeton and Barbara Harris of Amboy; one daughter-in-law Mary Thresea Bence of Granville; two step sons, Jim Taylor of Ladd and Ross(Debbie)Taylor of Seatonville; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 42 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husbands, one son Robert Bence in 1993, one great granddaughter Sara Sissel, one great great granddaughter Penny Worley and son-in-laws, Dale Sissel and Oliver Harris. Six sisters, Isa,Evelyn,Florence,Margaret,Ruth and Ann”Molly”. Five brothers, Melvin,Ira,Arthur,Harold and Warren”Johnny”.
