Elizabeth J. “Betty” Rader, 85, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at Westminster Village, Allentown, on Monday, June 24, 2013. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. “Reds” Rader, who died in 1995. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Howie) Berry. Betty sewed parachutes and Army jackets as a young woman during WWII, and later worked in the labor room at Easton Hospital, until the early 1980s. She was a member of Edgeboro Moravian Church in Bethlehem, where she was a Sunday School teacher and choir member. Survivors: sons, David J. Rader and his wife Mary of Bethlehem, John M. Rader of Melbourne, FL, Grandchildren; David Rader, Jr., his wife, Concetta DePaolo, and their daughters, Megan and Abigail of Terre Haute, IN Tara Guglieimo, her husband, Tom and their sons, Patrick and Sean of Long Island; a daughter, Joanne Novack of Nazareth and her daughter, Jennifer Rader of Bethlehem. Betty was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Abruzzese.
