Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Cope Collins Perkins, age 57, passed away on Christmas Day, 2008. She was born January 18, 1951, the third child of Dr. Stanton E. and Mildred (Moonie) Cope of Huntington, IN. Her parents preceded her in death. She attended Huntington High School, where she enjoyed cheerleading. After graduation in 1968, she attended Florida State University.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Ashville. Beth enjoyed gardening and fishing, but her true love was clowning. She was a professional, performing under the name of “Diddly Squat” in Madeira Beach, Florida for more than 16 years. She was particularly fond of entertaining children, the elderly, and the handicapped.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, David Perkins of Madeira Beach; a son, Taylor Collins of Madeira Beach; her sister: Julie Cope Deemer and husband Jan, Indianapolis, IN; her brother Taylor Cope and wife Mollie of Flossmoor, IL; her brother Stanton Cope (Po) Jr., Silver Spring, MD, and wife Amyanne Keswani, Lake Forest, IL; 5 nephews and 3 nieces; 6 grandnephews and grandnieces; and her beloved dog Maggie Anne, also of Madeira Beach.
