Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Kisler, 90, formerly of Galesburg, died peacefully Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Ottawa Pavilion, Ottawa, IL surrounded by her loving children.

Betty was born August 3, 1931 in Blue Island, IL the daughter of Eugene John and Philomena Marie (Ambrosio) Petrini.

Betty married Lyle Vincent Kisler on January 17, 1953 at St. Donatus Church in Blue Island. Lyle preceded her in death after 60 years of marriage on February 7, 2013.

Betty is survived by one son, James (Ruth Normandin) Kisler of Carmel, IN; three daughters:  Jeanne (Robert) Calabrese of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Janet (Chris) Linde of Ottawa, IL and Jennifer (Tim) Boos of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL;  thirteen grandchildren: Crosby Kisler, Kelsey (Martin) Eberle, Ben Normandin, Sarah (Zach) Lewis, Matthew (Maude) Calabrese, Francesca Calabrese, Alana (Luke) Braland, Reese, Alexa, Alyse and Regan Linde, Allison and Grant Boos and five great grandchildren: Luca, Sutton, Brantley, Adam, and Brooks.

Betty is also survived by four brothers, Eugene “Geno” Petrini of Mesa, AZ, Julio (Madeline) Petrini of Santa Barbara, CA, Gerald “Jerry” (Virginia) Petrini of Santa Barbara, CA, and James Petrini of South Pasadena, CA.  Along with her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by an infant son, Lyle Kisler, Jr., on November 10, 1954; one brother, John Petrini; and one sister, Anne Kisler.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother and a dedicated member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg. She loved traditions and making memories with her family and friends. She especially loved family reunions and being involved in all the planning and preparations that went along with them. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Meeting Pope John Paul II in 1982 in Italy was a special highlight in her life.
