Elizabeth “Betty” passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
She was born April 24, 1938 in New Cumberland, WV, the daughter of Stephen and Esther (Costello) Haynes. Betty was united in marriage to Carl D. Carter, who preceded her in death on December 16, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by a brother James Haynes.
Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was employed with Big Boy’s as the dining room manager for several years. Surviving are her two children, Kathy (Ronald) Warren, and Tim (Michelle) Lake; four grandchildren Christen Broussard, Chelsea Broussard, Sadie Lake, and Walker Lake; a great-granddaughter Adelaide West; her sister Jackie Taylor; and very special friends Karen (Geoffrey) Cooley.
