Elizabeth Ann Courtenay, “Betty”, 86, of Colchester, passed away peacefully Saturday (Nov. 15, 2014) at Middlesex Hospital. Born Oct. 17, 1928 in The Bronx, NY, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary O’Donnell. Betty was a long time resident of Long Island, NY but has called Colchester her home for the past 14 years.
She loved her town and was very active in the Colchester Senior Center where she enjoyed singing with the Golden Glows competing in Wii Bowling tournaments and line dancing with her friends.
Widow of the late Michael D., Sr., she leaves five children and their spouses, Betty and John Brgant, Kathy and Bob Koebler, Mickey (Jr.) and Marie, Danny and Kathy and Joanne and Curt Clarke; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Peter O’Donnell of Long Island, NY; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ellen Fedler; and four siblings.
Betty carried herself through this life with much dignity and grace and will be sorely missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
