Elizabeth Ann Andrzejewski, 74, loving mother and grandmother ended her long courageous battle with failing health late Saturday, February 24, 2007, at Regency Place of South Bend. Elizabeth Ann was born on February 4, 1933, in Coloma, Michigan to Richard & Pearl (Perry) Conklin. In 1954 she married Louis J. Andrzejewski of South Bend who preceded her in death on May 7, 1987.

Surviving are her four children, Diane Choate & her husband Luke of Mishawaka, Kurt Andrzejewski & his wife Patti of Mishawaka, LuAnn Szalewski & her husband Thomas of Niles, Michigan, and Julie Andrzejewski of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She will always be remembered by her five grandchildren; Zachary, Josalyn, Matthew, Rachel, and Ryan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and friend until the end, Kay Andrzejewski of South Bend; and her nieces and nephews from South Bend and Coloma, Michigan. Her sister, Bonnie Phillips preceded her in death on March 21, 2000.

Betty was a familiar face and voice for years at the Memorial Hospital reception desk until her retirement. She loved gardening and took great pride in her roses. She was an uncompromisingly partisan Notre Dame Football fan. Betty is remembered by her family for her sharply mischievous sense of humor and also for her determination against the many obstacles she faced as she fought for just one more day during the last few years of her life. To the end she continually surprised her family and visitors with a playful wisecrack that would always leave them smiling. Betty will truly be missed.
