Elizabeth A. “Betty” Fentz, 80, of Fortville, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born May 16, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Anna (Beyer) Lauber. Betty was a 1955 graduate of St. Agnes High School and was very proud of earning her CNA Certificate at the age of 70. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Fortville where she sang in the choir.
Betty was also actively involved in the Indianapolis Liederkranz where she also sang in the Damen Choir. Betty is survived by children: Frederick “Fritz” (Nancy) Fentz of Fortville; Karl (Angela) Fentz of Greenfield; Annelore (Dan) Palmer of Greenfield; and Marianna (Dwayne) Garrity of Fortville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister Mary Katherine Hermance of Huntington Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by husband Thomas E. Fentz in 2008; daughter Katrina Fentz in 2012; grandson Bryan Fentz; brother Frank Lauber; and sister Charlene Shaughnessy.
