Elisha D. Adkins, age 87, of Southgate passed peacefully May 3, 2010 at 8:45pm at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. Elisha has gone home to be with his Lord and beloved wife Rosy of 67yrs. Born June 5, 1922 in Pikeville, KY to John (Virgie Williams) Adkins. He married Rosy Arnold May 10, 1939 in Owsley, KY and worked at Penwalt Chemical Co., Wyandotte, MI for 36 yrs, retiring in 1978. Elisha was a member of Church of God Mountain Assembly, Monroe and attended Woodhaven Free Will Baptist Church, Woodhaven. Surviving are his son Hasel (Judy) Adkins of Russellville, Ark., four daughters Ovetta (Edmond) Adkins of Southgate, MI, Ponzell (Ralph) Stewart of Taylor, MI, Rose Mary (Gerald) Willett of S. Rockwood, MI and Lois Ann (Royce) Dickey of Paris, TX, a brother Andy (Mary) Adkins of Newport, MI, 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Rosy, September 20, 2006, a brother Otis Adkins, a sister Della Ray and four grandchildren Annette (Mike) Houston, Annette Louise Adkins and Little Hasel.
