Elijah “Dough Boy” Schmidt, a loving son, brother and friend, died peacefully on Sept. 7, 2015. He was 35 years old.

Elijah is survived by his mother and sister, Cindy and Erica Schmidt; his grandmother, Dorothy Schmidt; his Uncle Kenny, Aunt Becky, and cousin Tiffany Schmidt; as well as his cherished American Bulldogs, Kieser and Kadja.

He is predeceased by his father, Larry Schmidt, and his brother, Jeremy Fabrizius.

Elijah was born in Denver, Colo. on Nov. 14, 1979. His family moved to Fountain Hills in 1988, where he became a likable and well-known community member for many years to come.

In the year 2000, Elijah and close friend Eugene Wathagoma established a business, a hip hop clothing store called “Nu Era Formz,” which was frequented by actor Tom Lister Jr., “Deebo” as well as most members of the famous Wu Tang Clan music group.

Elijah was a generous, kind and lighthearted jokester with a need for speed. He was a giving and gentle soul who could always be depended on to help a family member or friend in need. He had a passion for MMA boxing, fast cars, helping others and making people laugh.

Above all, he dearly loved and valued his family, his friends and his canine companions. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
