Elgar Louis Powell Elgar Louis Powell (affectionately known as little Louie) 22, of New Britain, departed this life on Friday (August 10) at Hospital for Special Care, New Britain. He was born on December 18, 1989 in Hartford, to Kezia M. Gayle and Louis Powell. He had been a resident of the Hospital for Special Care for 20 years. He attended the Oak Hill School Classroom at Slade School in New Britain, he graduated in 2011. In his passing, he leaves to cherish his memory his parents, 2 sisters, Neka Powell and Audina Powell and one brother Ian D. Powell, a devoted Aunt Lenora Thomas-Morton of Hartford and a host of other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind the dedicated staff on the pediatric unit and ancillary staff of Hospital for Special care, especially his primary Nurse Nadine (Team Leader), Dr. Pelegano and P.A. John Bean, Diana Powell and Loretta Bryan; without their love and dedication he would not have had such a wonderful life. He had a incredible spirit with an infectious laugh and smile; he was loved by all that crossed his path. He will be sorely missed.
