Elena Chavez Nava

Elena Chavez Nava passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 8, 2016. She was born on May 17, 1931 in Ocotlan, Mexico to Isidro Chavez and Angela Garcia. Elena married her sweetheart, Amancio Nava on August 8, 1952 in Mexico.
She was a member of the LDS Church, Ogden 49th Ward.
She worked at Coleman Knitting, West Coast Industries and American Linen.

Elena loved her deep Mexican roots and her family there. She would visit and stay in her home with all of her family for 5 months out of the year.

Elena enjoyed and had a love for traveling, sewing, knitting and making things for the family. She also enjoyed cooking and always put emphasis on learning and hard work.

Family dinners will never be the same without her standing by the stove, making corn tortillas and serving them hot off the grill.

She was a wonderful grandmother and was the greatest example of strength, faith, charisma, sacrifice and determination.

She made many sacrifices for her family and would give you the shirt off her back.
She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Roger, Norman (Shanna) and Joel (Jeri) Nava; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; and son, Francisco.
