     Mrs. Eleese Adamson Shaddix, 89, of Dalton, Ga., passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Morningside Assisted Living in Dalton.

     Mrs. Shaddix is survived by her daughter, Barbara Matthews of Dawsonville, Ga.; three sons, Henry (Shelva) Shaddix of Dalton, Ga., Randy (Michele) Shaddix of Marietta, Ga., Scott (Dorinda) Shaddix of Chelsea, Al.; eight grandchildren, Robin Roland, Andy and Lyndsey Wallace, Kara and Dalton Shaddix, Stacey and Steve Carpenter, Beth Diyenno; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

     Mrs. Shaddix was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Shaddix, Sr.; brother, Bill Joe Adamson; sister Myra McKendree.

     Mrs. Shaddix was born on February 26, 1924 in Lanett, Al. to the late Awyer and Alice Adamson.  She was a dedicated high school teacher for 40 years, along with her husband, Henry C., who was a teacher and football coach.  She loved being with her family and spending her summers at the cabin on Lake Harding for 60 plus years.  There, she could enjoy being with her children, family, and friends as they fished, boated, and skied.  She loved to play card games and dominos at the cabin.  She was an avid reader and loved to share her books with family, students, and friends.  Eleese loved teaching and was always involved in all school functions, fund raisers, and any and all sporting events.
