Elaine, the daughter of Homer and Lula (Hintz) Dodds, was born on July 7, 1936, in Algona, IA. Her parents farmed near Lone Rock. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, but later became a member of the First United Methodist Church. She attended country school and Algona High School. Elaine loved working. Over the years she was employed at several businesses, including Charlie’s Supper Club, Kum & Go and Hy-Vee. She was especially proud of the fact that she was still working at age 82. Some of her favorite people were those she met while working at her various jobs. Elaine enjoyed gardening, watching old westerns, sitting in the sun, collecting gnomes, going to garage sales, listening to music, reading and quilting. She always enjoyed having her family gathered together, especially at Christmas. Her grandchildren will always remember her endless supply of Oreo cookies. Elaine is survived by her husband Truman D.
