Elaine (Hipke-Mielock) Dowling

Our kind, beautiful and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away early Saturday afternoon, October 7, 2017 at Bay Medical Care Facility at the age of 91. The daughter of the late John and Julia (Timm) Hipke was born in Bay City on August 7, 1926. She graduated in 1944 from Bay City Central High School. Elaine was the first female urban renewal officer in the State of Michigan and was employed by the City of Bay City, retiring after 28 years of service. She was an avid sports fan, especially U of M football.
Left behind to cherish her memories are one daughter, Sherry Clements; two grandchildren, Edward Clements and Jane (Matthew) Klawon; two great granddaughters, Maria and Lauren Klawon; her special niece Jewell (Jerry) Alswede; her step-children; Colleen Iamurri, Bob (Julie Dowling and Tom Beach, Franks grandchildren, Wendy and Nick and their families. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Mielock, her second husband, Frank Dowling; her brothers, Gus, Lorenz, Herb, Wes, Clarence and Willard; her sisters, Alvina, Freda, Helen and Anne; her favorite son-in-law, Paul Clements; one stepson-in-law, Rick Iamurri Elaine’s family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of Bay Medical Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care Elaine received during her time of need.
At the request of Elaine, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned.
