Elaine E. Banahan, 81, of Steele City, NE, passed away, July 4, 2017 at the Centennial Homestead House in Washington, KS after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born July 21, 1935 at Steele City to George and Neva (Fuqua) Graff. She graduated from Steele City High School in 1953 and after attending summer school taught school for a few years.  She married Lynn Banahan on March 30 1957.  She worked at Swingsters until she retired in June of 2000. She was a member of the Steele City Presbyterian Church and held many church offices throughout the years.

Elaine was survived by her husband, Lynn; sons, Dave (Mary) Banahan, Dan Banahan, Daryl (Vickie) Banahan, all of Steele City; daughters, Jo (Randy) Nease of Dallas, TX; Nyla (Charles) Ring Jr. of Oketo, KS; 7 grandchildren, Heather Nease, James (Deidre) Banahan, Ryan (Kristin) Banahan, Scott Banahan, Andy (Jenna) Banahan, Travis Banahan, and Samantha Banahan; 5 great-grandchildren, MeKenzie and Kamden Banahan, Logan Banahan, Brayden and Emersyn Banahan; brothers, Lyle (Sharlene) Graff of Steele City, Larry (Kathy) Graff of Lincoln; sister, Betty Munsterman of Lincoln; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry (Karen) Banahan of Steele City, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donnie Graff; brother-in-law, Clarence Munsterman; sister-in-law, Bonnie Graff; and grandson, Stuart Banahan.
