Obituary of Elaine Denise Conrad, CSJ
Elaine Denise Conrad, CSJ, born in Breckenridge, MN on Nov. 4, 1921 died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Paul, on April 7, 2017. She is preceded in death by parents George and Elivira Ziebarth Conrad, sisters, Muriel and Adriane and brothers, Aubrey, Lawrence and James. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank from 1941 until 1950 when she joined the Sisters of St. Joseph receiving the name, Sister Joseph Therese. In 1953, she began a lifetime of challenging administrative positions in businesses offices of the Sisters of St. Joseph Province, St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, Fargo, and St. Mary’s Clinics. In 2003, she volunteered with the Nonviolent Peaceforce until retiring in 2006 to Bethany Convent and moving in 2011 to Carondelet Village. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and Sisters of St. Joseph and Consociates. 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 12 followed by 11 a.m.
