Elaine D. Lafferty, 84 of Centralia passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She was born on October 30, 1928, in Kankakee Illinois the daughter of Fred and Marcella (Scanlin) Koening.
She married William G. Lafferty on November 22, 1951, and he proceeded to her in death on June 21, 2013. Mrs. Lafferty is survived by two sons, James Lafferty and wife Alaina of Kansas City, MO, William Lafferty, Jr. of St. Louis; two daughters Laura McKinney & husband Ed of Centralia and Susan Trombley and husband Howard and family of Warren, MI; six grandchildren Tami Wolfson and husband, Amanda Lafferty, Amber Holcomb and husband Steven, Dana Price, Ryan Price, and Hannah Bruns, and Erica Lungstrom; Five great-grandchildren Parker Anderson and Leah Holcomb, Emily Wolfson, Lucas, and Hayden Bruns; and one brother-in-law James Lafferty of Portage, IN.
Mrs. Lafferty was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Mrs. Lafferty was a homemaker and worked as a nurse’s aide. Along with her husband Bill they owned B & E Paints and she was the secretary for that horse business.
She enjoyed quilting. Above all things, Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
