On February 3, 2022, Eileen Joyce Balkus, 54, and Carl Edward Balkus, III, 52, went to the loving arms of the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.
Eileen and Eddie were the daughter and son of Carl E. Balkus, Jr., of California and Diedra G. Gosline, of Ashford, CT.
Eddie worked his whole life as a brick and block mason and a self-employed stone mason. He loved and cherished his children. Eileen was a special child whose smile would warm your soul.
Aside from their parents, Eddie is survived by his two daughters, Samantha Diedra and Jordan Riley and their mother, Nicole Cote Balkus of Brooklyn, CT. Eileen and Eddie are also survived by sisters, Pamela of Pomfret, CT and Missy of Columbia, CT. Brothers, Brian of Ashford, CT and Michael of Ellington, CT; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and too many friends to mention.
