Eileen Harriet Dokken went peacefully in the night to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday January 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Eileen was born to Marvin and Eva Borah on November 15, 1943 in Payson, Utah. Eileen’s childhood was spent in Gypsum Colorado and moved to Grand Junction in her early teens. She met her husband Gary Dokken at age 14 at a Grand Junction High School dance. She settled in the Grand Valley where she worked and raised her family. Gary and Eileen were married March 26, 1960. They have been married 56 years. She was a well known insurance broker in the Grand Valley. She also fought a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis for 30 years, but that didn’t slow her down. She enjoyed family reunions, boating at Lake Powell, dancing, traveling, shopping, and watching the Denver Broncos. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother, and two sisters. She is survived by her loving husband Gary Dokken, children Greg Dokken, Debra (Steve) Payne, grandchildren Derek Dokken, Tyler Payne, Ben Payne, Alison Payne, and one great grandson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
