Edythe Rula Lloyd, 91, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully to meet her Savior and family on October 23, 2022.

Edythe was born August 29, 1931 in Shelley, Idaho, the third child to Allan Oscar Johnson and Rula Johnson. When she was in high school, the family moved to Idaho Falls where she graduated in 1949. After high school she attended Ricks College where she met the love of her life, Richard Lloyd. After he served a two year mission, they were married May 29, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Their first home was in Wichita, Texas, where Richard finished his training in the Air Force. From there, they moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and then to Bangor, Maine. When Richard was released from the Air Force, they returned to Idaho where they farmed in Gooding, Idaho with both sets of parents.
Edythe and Richard moved to Boise, Idaho in 1961 and rented a farm of their own. In 1967 they purchased a farm in Meridian, Idaho where Edythe farmed side by side with Richard. For all the years they farmed, she was the best truck driver Richard ever had. In 1979 they built the “Big” house on the farm. She also started serving in the Boise temple alongside Richard.

In 1990 they sold the farm and moved to Boise, Idaho. Here, she started her missionary years with Richard as her companion. They served in the Columbia, South Carolina mission, mainly in Moncks Corner; the Oakland, California mission where Edythe worked in the office and Richard was over the apartments and cars; the Boise, Idaho mission, again working in the office. The last two missions were the Nauvoo, Illinois mission where Edythe dressed in Pioneer attire and guided tours in various historic spots in Nauvoo. Edythe spent her life side by side with Richard in everything they did. She loved Richard and she loved the Lord.

Edythe is preceded in death by her parents, Allan Oscar and Rula Johnson; brothers Aldon and Earl Johnson and sister Miriam Brighton; granddaughter Kimberly Lloyd; great-grandson Gidgidonihah Golightly; great-granddaughters Eleanor and Ariana Golightly, and Ellie Lloyd. We imagine a joyous reunion when she arrived at Heaven’s gate greeted by her loved ones.

Edythe is survived by her eternal companion of 69 years, Richard Lyman Lloyd; her children, Barbara (Clyde) Hable, Leroy (Susan) Lloyd, Donetta (Lane) Brewer, John (Cindy) Lloyd, Joline (Doug) Golightly, Mary Lloyd, Martha Watkins, and Robert (Kathleen) Lloyd; 37 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren.

She is loved by all her family and all who knew her. She will be missed.
