Edythe Howard Parkes , 93, died on August 24, 2011 at Brookdale Place in Wilton, CT. Prior to living in Wilton, she was a longtime resident of Stamford. She was the widow of Lawrence Parkes. Mrs. Parkes is survived by a niece and four nephews. She is predeceased by a sister and four brothers. Edythe was born on March 18, 1918 in Stamford, the daughter of John Thomas Howard and Jennie Ryder Howard, also longtime Stamford residents.
For many years before her retirement, Edythe was a legal secretary and administrative assistant to the Judge of Probate in the City of Stamford. She enjoyed travel, having worked in Germany and Austria during her early years.
