Edwin R. James Sr., 77, of Salem, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at 1:54 p.m. at the Salem Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. Mr. James was born February 1, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Raymond James and late Louise (Potter) James. He had lived in this area for the past 16 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. James is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Batkins) James whom he married April 12, 1958. Other survivors include three sons: Dennis (Renee) James of Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Edwin (Christy) James, Jr. of Bluffton, South Carolina and Darrin (Kim) James of Salem, a daughter, Debra Donnelly of Fairborn, Ohio and a sister, Alta-May Kibbi of Cleveland, Ohio, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
