Edward Margosian
Troy Edward Margosian, died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late George Margosian and Zartar (Boghosian) Margosian and husband of Marie Guilana Margosian.
He had resided in Albany and Troy all his life, was educated at Troy High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from Union College in Schenectady and Masters from the New York State Teachers College in Albany.
Mr. Margosian was an associate personnel administrator for the New York State government for 22 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Church in Troy, American Legion Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post #1040 Delmar and a former member of Toastmasters. Ed was an avid reader, enjoyed classical music, opera and Broadway plays, had thorough knowledge of the Bible, was a man of prayer and had interest in state and national politics. He and his wife were world travelers, traveling extensively in the Middle East and Far East. On one occasion, while visiting China, they walked along the Great Wall. He was an Army veteran during World War II. As a member of the military, he was responsible for guarding German and Italian prisoners of war being transported from the East Coast to camps in the West. He also served in the Aleutian Islands and Alaska.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a brother, George Margosian of Troy; two nieces, Betty Ann Bowen and Christine Griswold; four grand nephews and a grand niece; a sister-in law and brother-in-law, Kathaleen and David Guyette. He was predeceased by his sister, Ann Margosian
