Edward James Syc, 28, a longtime resident of Newington, passed away on Thursday evening, November 20th, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on January 13, 1986, Eddie was the beloved son of Richard and Teresa (Angelillo) Syc also of Newington. Eddie was employed at Electrical Connection, Inc, as a licensed electrician and he was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Newington. In his leisure time, Eddie was a passionate fan of the NY Giants, the NY Knicks and took great pride in his GMC Sierra. He was known for his great personality, his smile that could light up a room and the fact that he could get along with anyone. Eddie touched many lives, and was an adored son, grandson, brother, uncle and nephew. Besides his mother and father, Eddie is survived by his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Angelillo of Newington, his paternal grandmother, Leona Syc of Cromwell, his brother, Gary R. Syc and his wife Michelle of Newington and their daughter, Jade, Eddie’s goddaughter; his brother, Robert C. Syc and his partner, Brendan Kihn of Silver Spring, MD; and his sister, Valerie Cruz and her husband, Jorge and their children, Mia and his other goddaughter, Aubrey. He also leaves his aunt, Barbara Turner and her children, Cristina, Nicolas, Jeffrey, and Lindsay; his uncles, Richard Angelillo and his wife Tanya and their children, Zachary, Gianna and Emma; Thomas Rudnick and his wife Diane, and their sons, Benjamin and Kyle; and Arthur Syc; as well as many extended family and friends. Eddie was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Robert P. Angelillo, paternal grandfather, Carl A. Syc and his uncle, Robert J. Angelillo. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to Eddie’s family on Tuesday evening, November 25th from 5-8 p.m.
