Edward J. McCarroll, 93 of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully on his birthday, Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of the late Alice E. (Foote) McCarroll. They were married for 40 years, until she passed away on February 21, 2013. Born in Alexandria, Scotland, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Ann (Will) McCarroll. He served in the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) for the British Army. Ed had emigrated from Scotland in 1960 for a job as a tool- and die-maker with Ford Motor Co. After moving to Bethlehem, he worked for Ingersoll Rand and the Fuller Co. as an engineer. Ed was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem. He enjoyed gardening, and restoring old cars and motorcycles. Ed was passionate about his late wife’s poetry. With help from his friend Sue Lucrezi, ‘The Wonderland of Alice,’ by Alice Foote, was published just before his passing.

SURVIVORS: He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Margaret Gallacher and her family of Brea, CA; brother Frank McCarroll and his wife Rachael and their family of Brea, CA; step-sons Bill Lenahan and his wife Dorothy of Harrisburg, John Lenahan of Sunny Isle, FL; grandchildren Patrick Lenahan and Kathryn Lenahan and her husband Alex Brophy; great-grandchildren Thomas and Eloise Lenahan-Brophy. He was predeceased by his brother John McCarroll and sister-in-law Joan.
