Edward Iannuzzi, 95 passed away at home in Miramar Beach Fl on July 15, 2021. His wife and family were with him to the end.

He was born June 9, 1926, in New York City, to Gerald and Amelia Iannuzzi. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY, and served in the US Navy with the CB’s in WWII as an Electrician’s Mate in the Pacific theater in the Marianna Islands on Guam and Saipan.

Subsequent to WW II he attended Syracuse University and graduated as an Electrical Engineer in Jun 1950. He held licenses as a Professional Engineer, in New York, Louisiana, and as a USCG Marine Engineer.

He was called back to active duty during the end of the Korean conflict and served in the US Navy for the next 30 years. His assignments were shipboard with the various Navy Commands.

On retirement from the Navy, he earned his MS Degree from USC in Calif and started his 2nd career with the US Army Corps of Engineers. He worked primarily overseas in Europe on Construction and Maintenance of Facilities in Germany and other European countries during the next 13 years. On returning from overseas duty, he worked as an Engineer at Redstone Arsenal, Al, retiring for the 2nd time in 1994. He and his wife, Brigid retired to Destin, Florida in 2000. They enjoyed the beautiful beach, traveling, cruise vacations, and touring extensively in Europe.

“Ed” and his wife Brigid were married 56 years. They have two sons, Robert resides in California, Tim resides in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

The family would like to thank the medical staff, nurses, those who prepared and served his meals. during his time at SHEC hospital. Grateful thanks to the Emerald Coast Hospice staff who cared for Ed during his last days at home.
