Edward Haight Schofield, 86, Resident of Milwaukie, OR passed away, Friday, February 19, 2016 at a local hospital in Portland, OR.

Ed was born June 22, 1929 in Kaysville, UT the only child of Frank Everett and Catherine Belle (Haight) Schofield. He grew up in Davis County, UT.

He met and married Janet Muir. The two eloped to Elko, NV on June 12, 1947. They moved to Portland, OR shortly after. Ed worked for his father at D & F Plumbing where he achieved status as a journeyman plumber. As well as working full time, he drove stock cars during the ’50’s and won many medals and awards.

After three children blessing their home, they moved to The Dalles, OR in 1961. They returned to Portland in 1977, and Ed became a City of Portland plumbing inspector. He also taught Plumbing Code to aspiring young people. He retired from the city after 17 years in 1993.

Ed volunteered for Wasco County Sheriff Reserve. He also was a member of The Elks and The Loyal Order Of The Moose (where he served twice as Governor and was a lifetime member).

He loved his wife, children, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, and both parents. He is survived by his three children: Edward Haight Schofield II (Laura), Pendleton, OR; Deborah K Palmer (Ronald), Milwaukie, OR; Frank Lee Schofield I (Tracy), Fairview, OR.
Five grandchildren: Michael Schofield, Travis (Karyn) Schofield, Christopher Howard, Lindsey Schofield, Frank Schofield II. Seven great grandchildren: Dakota Schofield, Tristen Schofield, Hannah Schofield, Hunter Schofield, Tayler Howard, Alexi Howard, and Shirley Belle Hendrix.
