FLORIDA / NEW HARTFORD –SHEFFIELD – Edward H. Sheffield, 89, of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of New Hartford, CT, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2007. He was the loving husband of Doris E. (Westberg) Sheffield whom he married on May 13, 1951 in New Hartford and the late Jean E. (Maxfield) Sheffield who passed away in 1947. Born November 2, 1917 in Willimantic, CT; the son of the late John W. Sheffield, Sr., and Mabel (Lewis) Sheffield. He retired from SNET after 35 years of employment. He was President of the PTA in New Hartford in the 1940s. In the 1950s, he was manager of the New Hartford Little League, the New Hartford Babe Ruth League, Cubmaster Pack 39 and Scoutmaster Troop 39, both in New Hartford. Mr. Sheffield was also an active member, superintendent of Sunday school and was active as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the North Congregational Church in New Hartford. He also enjoyed being on the Board of Trustees for the Spring Hill Congregational Church in FL and S.H.A.R.P in Spring Hill, FL.
