Mr. Edward H. Kowalski, 83 years, born June 7, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away March 18, 2007 at Maryville Manor Nursing Home, Maryville, Illinois.

Mr. Kowalski lived in the East St. Louis and Fairview Heights, Illinois area most of his life. He moved to Troy, Illinois in 2003. Ed was a Beef Logger for Hunter Packing Company for 4 years, a Truck Driver for Getter Gaylor & Fox Grocery, a St. Clair County Deputy Sheriff for 14 years, a Field Crew Assessor for St. Clair County for 16 years, and a Mutual Clerk at Fairmont Race Track. Ed was a Chemical War Fare-Toxic Gas Handler in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a member of Polish America War Veterans and a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Maryville, Illinois.

Mr. Kowalski is survived by his son Edward (Karen) Kowalski of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, his daughters Mrs. Joanne (Jim) Will of Evansville, Indiana, and Mrs. Deborah Ann (Jim) Laughlin of Troy, Illinois, five grandchildren, Mrs. Jacqueline (Jason) Bode of St. Jacob, Illinois, Jeffrey (Erin) Nemsky of Ft. Myers, Florida, Matthew (Allison) Kowalski of Wentzville, Missouri, Mrs. Katie (Frank) Abby of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Brandon Kowalski of O’Fallon, Missouri, four great-granddaughters, Samantha and Taylor Abby and Payton and Maris Bode, and a sister-in-law Mary Kowalski of Granite City, Illinois, and host of nephews and nieces.

Mr. Kowalski is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Adela (nee:Garaszymuk) Kowalski, his wife Lottie (nee:Rokita) Kowalski whom he married May 21, 1949 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in East St. Louis, Illinois and she passed away January 19, 1995, his brothers John, Charles, and his twin brother Joseph Kowalski, his sisters Stella Padgett and Lottie Kowalski died in infancy.

The Family of Edward Kowalski would like to thank Dr. Brad Ringhofer, Dr. Farrah and the Nursing Staff at Anderson Hospital, the Staff at Maryville Manor Nursing Home and Hospice of Southern Illinois for their kindness and special care given to our dad.
