Edward H. Higgins “Butch”, “Ed” “I want everybody to know that I fought a good fight.” Ed passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Florence, NJ, on August 6, 1940, he and his new bride moved to Burlington Twp. in 1959. He owned and operated Ed’s Heating and Air Conditioning for many years until his retirement.

An avid salt-water fisherman, he enjoyed fishing outside of Tuckerton on his boat, the Debra Lynne. Ed loved to restore old tractors and could turn a pile of rust into a working machine – something he was able to take pride in even until recently. Always a hard-working man, after retirement he was a popular figure at Sutton’s Farm where he helped out every Summer and could be seen with his beloved black lab “Bo.” Ed was a member of Pemberton Pyramid Lodge 92, F&AM, for over 20 years.

He was the solid foundation of his loving family; a man of whom we’ll forever be proud. Husband of the late Alice (Nee: Harbeson), he is survived by their children: Edward, Jr. (Dorothy) and Debra (James) Mayberry; grandsons: Robert Buck, Jr. and Thomas (Ashley) Buck, SHSN, USN; great-granddaughter: Rosalie; sister: Stella Fleetwood; brother-in-law: Mark (Carol) Harbeson; several nieces and nephews and special friends Stan Hansel and Thomas Sutton.
