Edward George Linkous, Sr

On October 22, 2019, Edward George Linkous, Sr., passed.  He was 88.

He was born in Gate City, West Virginia the son of Albert and Elizabeth (nee Dingus) and would spend the balance of his years in Maryland.

George served his country as a radar crewman in the United States Army for which he earned an honorable discharge.  He would work for the B&O Railroad as a bus driver and chauffeur for his first career then worked for Maryland State Roads for 20 years, finally retiring in 1992 as a Supervisor for the same.  George was a tinkerer and dabbled in mechanics and carpentry.  He had remodeled homes and liked woodworking. It was said ,”he could do anything,” and “he was handy with tools.”

George joins his late wife of over fifty years, Ellen, in passing.  He is survived by his daughters, Georgia Rittmeyer, Mary DeCarlo and her husband Ed and Ann Coen and her spouse Harry.  He is also survived by Edward G. Linkous, Jr., his only son.  His legacy lives on in his cherished grandchildren, Crystal Ellingwood, Jennifer Sittig, Suzette Daniels, Mandy Stinchcomb, Samantha DeCarlo, Adryon Bapisteller and loving great-grand children, Hailey, Dylan and Willow Stinchcomb, Alora Montgomery and Cammy and Cora Sittig.  George’s passing will also be deeply regretted by his dear companion and “best friend,” Lynne Ascencio.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
