Edward G. Potocnik, 93, of LaSalle, passed away October 4, 2012 at Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
Mr. Potocnik was born on December 21, 1918 in LaSalle to John and Anna (Mencak) Potocnik. He was a retired meat cutter. Ed was a SGT HDQ Co, Ninth Army during World War II serving 18 months in the European Theater. He graduated from L-P High School and later from Brown’s Business School in LaSalle. Ed was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle and the American Legion.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joe, John, Tony, Henry and Bill Potocnik; three sisters, Mary Dowling, Ann Mohr and Elizabeth McAdams. Pallbearers will be Robert P. McAdams, Gregory McAdams, Arthur Buck, Robert Ruskusky, Jr., Brian Gillan and Leonard Inda.
