Edward J. Ducks Derix, 83, of LaSalle Veterans Home, passed away Thursday morning, June 30, 2011 at St. Margarets Hospital, Spring Valley. Mr. Derix was born September 24, 1927 in LaSalle to Edward and Sophie (Konczal) Derix. He married Beverly Mae Lucas on May 30, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church, Peru.
She passed away April 14, 2006. Ed was a Painting and Finishing Contractor for many years. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Josephs Church in Peru. He is survived by his 7 children; Beverly (James) Eich of Peru, Patrice Swiskoski of Peru, Edward M. (Debbie) Derix of Spring Valley, Lana (Daniel) Vowels of LaSalle, Thomas J. Derix of Peru, Donald (Phyllis) Derix of Marseilles and Jack P. Derix of Peru; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol (Sandy) Trejo of Depue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, and two sisters, Darlen Flower and Dolores Pat Brown.
