Eduardo “Edward” Chavez passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, January 6, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Los Ranchos where he was born to Maximilliano Chavez and Victoriana Sanchez Chavez on November 8, 1921.

He is survived by his children, Rosie Encinias, Edward Chavez, Jr. (Cathy), and Robert Chavez; as well as his grandson, Daniel Encinias (Irene); great-granddaughters, Brandi Encinias (Reginald) and Baylee Encinias (Adam); his great-grandsons, Patrick Encinias and Daniel Encinias, Jr.; and great-great-grandson, Ayln Jacob Bryant; his brother, Dennis Chavez (wife, Mary); his sisters, Lore Aguilar (Manuel), Margaret Lopez; as well as many nephews, nieces, family, Godchildren, and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

His journey to Heaven was preceded by his parents; his beloved wife, Priscilla; his grandsons, Leroy Encinias, Jr. and Patrick Encinias; his brothers, Felix, Willie, Oliver, Filomeno, Max, Jr., Juan De Dios; and by his sisters, Jennie Crespin and Barbara Griego.

He served proudly in the United States Army during WWII and will be honored by the American Legion Post 69 Color Guard with the traditional salute bestowed upon veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

He will be ushered to his final resting place by his “fellas”: Patrick Encinias, Daniel Encinias, Jr., Ayln Jacob Bryant, Oliver Chavez, Juan Chavez, Jr.
