WHEELER, Edna M., of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 12, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born on May 4, 1928 in Westphalia, MI, the daughter of the late Leo and Margaret Fleckenstein Wohlfert. On October 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bernard Wheeler, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2001.
Edna was employed by Western Michigan University as the head cook until her retirement. She loved to dance and spend time with her grandchildren and her special friend, Fred Gay. Surviving are her six children, Paul Janice Wheeler, Sheila Okeley, Judy Ceaser Millers, Chad Kelly Wheeler, Fran Dave Collins and Bart Wheeler; twelve grandchildren, Randy Jeannie Okeley, Clayton Jessica Okeley, Robie Millers, Janice Steve Millers, Adam Amy Millers, Krissy Wheeler, Stefanie Nick Jones, Lindsy Doug Pfau, Megan Collins, Mike Collins, Lance Wheeler, Cara Wheeler; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaleb Okeley, Ashton and Linden Okeley, Sierra and Josh Lambert, Tyler Boyle, Blaine Willis, Alexis Dickerson, Aiden Millers, Alyssa Millers, Ellie Jones; sister, Theresa Seelye; and her friend and companion, Zac. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, daughter, Janice Wheeler Osborne; and son-in-law, Floyd Okeley.
