Edna was born on October 15, 1915 in Gresham, NE to Herman and Bertha (Bluhm) Neujahr. On December 25, 1939, Edna was united in marriage to Walter William Niemann at Friedens United Church of Christ in Seward, NE. Edna enjoyed being a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of Staplehurst Community Club, LWML and Holy Cross Ladies Aid. Edna passed away on February 23, 2013 in Seward, NE at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 8 days. She is survived by two sons, Donald (Shirley Jean) Niemann, Lincoln, NE and Dwane (Nancy) Niemann, Seward, NE; grandchildren, Randall (Nancy) Niemann, Craig (Lisa) Niemann, Sabrina (Bill) Niemann-Distel; great grandchildren, Meghan Niemann, C.J. Niemann, Adam Niemann, Jacob Niemann, Isabella Niemann, Nicole & Jordan Distel; sister-in-laws, Delores Nordmeyer, York, NE and Luella Pollock, Utica, NE. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; sisters, Lorene (Walter) Nordmeyer and Berdean Neujahr. The Family extends our ‘thanks’ to family and friends who have provided friendship and support to our Mother over these past several years. A ‘thank you’ to the caregivers who assisted her in remaining independent and living in her own home. A ‘special thank you’ to the caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care and also for the loving care provided by all of the staff at the Seward Memorial Hospital Assisted Living.
