Edmund Lefty Michalski, 92, formerly of N. Johnson Street in South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully at 9:45pm Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at St. Josephs Care Center in South Bend, IN.
He was born on August 31, 1914 to the late Stanley and Mary (Marcinski) Michalski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with his parents; two sisters; and three brothers also preceded him in death.
Mr. Michalski retired in 1979 from Indiana Dairy, which was a family owned and operated business. He had worked there ever since he was a teenager.
On November 2, 1940, he married the former Vivian R. Palka in South Bend, IN. She died on March 23, 2003.
He is survived by one daughter, Joyce J. Baker of South Bend, IN; two sons, Thomas M. (Linda) Michalski of South Bend, IN; Gerald M. (Kathy) Michalski of South Bend, IN; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one brother, Chester (Catherine) Michalski of South Bend, IN.
Mr. Michalski was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and the Polish National Alliance #83 Club, both in South Bend. He was also a lifetime member of Chain O Lakes Conservation Club in Lydick.
