Edmund J. Polakowski, age 85 of Holiday City Berkeley died December 3, 2013 at home. Born in South River, NJ, Edmund lived in Hackettstown for over 30 years, retiring to Ocean Beach and moving to Holiday City Berkley in 2001. Edmund served in the United States Army Air Corps. during the Occupation of Japan in 1946.

He later went on to work for M&M Mars Company in Hackettstown as a frontline Supervisor, retiring in 1985. After his retirement Edmund was a member of many religious organizations including, the Knights of Columbus 4th degree at Rev. Msgr. John F. Baldwin Assembly, Knights of Columbus 3rd degree Council 8415 of Seaside Park, NJ, Captain of 1st Degree Team, a former parishioner of the Parish of St. Pio in Lavallette as well as a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe and of their Holy Name Societies. Edmund was also the former President of the Polish American Club of Toms River in 2005. He enjoyed the beach, cooking and baseball.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Theresa (Borchuck) Polakowski, his children, Irene O’Reilly, Stephen Andrew, John and Henry Polakowski, his grandchildren, Michael, Marie, Sara, Ellen, Alyssa and John and two great-grandsons, Stephen and Michael.
