Troy Edmund H. Sargent , 88, died Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Heritage House Nursing Center in Troy after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Richard Sargent and Sarah (Brown) Sargent.
He had resided all his life in Troy and was educated in Troy schools.
Mr. Sargent owned and operated College Cleaners on Second Street in South Troy and Broughton’s Fur’s on Fourth Street in Troy for 35 years, retiring 30 years ago. He was also a self employed realtor and later worked for Lombardo Real Estate.
He was a member of Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church in Troy and chairman of the Board of Trustees; a member of King Solomon’s Primitive Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, IN, Oriental Temple and the Mountaineer Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Albany. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by many friends including Albert and Alice Fox, Joe and Isabella Rodino and George, Jean and Bob Hillje.
