Edmund G. “Peanut” Carlariello, age 81, of Salem, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital. He was born August 31, 1932 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Peter Carlariello and Elizabeth (Morelli) Carlariello Wyszynski. Mr. Carlariello was a lifetime area resident and retired in 1994 as a supervisor at the Eljer Company. He was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. Before his illness, he was an usher and senior altar server. He was also a member of K of C and a lifetime member of Salem Elk Lodge #305. Mr. Carlariello served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. His wife, Ethel (Dimko) Carlariello, whom he married August 25, 1956, survives him along with a daughter, Lori A. Johnson of Salem; two grandsons, Jim Johnson of Winter Park, FL and Alec Johnson of Salem; and a brother, John Carlariello of Salem. A brother, Henry Carlariello, also preceded him in death.
