Edith (Palumbo) Tirabassi, 93, of Newington, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Tirabassi. Born and raised in New Britain, daughter of the late Louis and Angelina (Carlini) Palumbo, she resided in Newington for most of her life. Edith retired from American Bazaar in New Britain after many years of employment and was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and she especially loved to shop. She was pre-deceased by her brother Joseph Palumbo, and her sister Anna DiBattista. Her survivors include her sister-in-law Leona Nowicki of Newington; and many nieces and nephews, including her devoted niece Sandra Woods of Enfield.
