Edith Ann Oltmann was born November 19, 1936, to Alfred and Anna (Voigts) Heuer, in Greene, Iowa. Edie attended Brushy Mound Country School, was a 1956 graduate of Bristow High School and attended Allen School of Nursing.
On September 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Wendell Oltmann at St.
Edie was a registered nurse for 42 years, before retiring in 2000. She worked at Allen Hospital, in a physician’s office and Cedar Valley Hospice. Throughout her career she was given many awards: Humanitarian Award, Associate of the Year, Iowa Council of Nurse Managers, and Cedar Valley Hospice Honors.
