Edith May Bowlsbey Ralston Irwin, 79 of North East, MD, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at Caraway Manor Assisted Living, Elkton, MD.
Born in Leeds, MD, on September 19, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James C. Bowlsbey, Sr. and the late Edith May Castelow Bowlsbey.
Mrs. Irwin was a past member of the Eastern Starr, Jobs Daughters, Cecil County Emergency Team, Girl Scouts and Leeds United Methodist Church, Elkton, MD.
Survivors include her children: Debra Anne Minor of Newark, DE, Ronald E. Ralston of North East, MD, Jennifer S. Pretzler of Bear, DE and Kathleen D. Jarrett of Summerdale, AL; her siblings: Alice M. Reynolds of Childs, MD, James C. Bowlsbey, Jr. of Elkton, MD, Joseph Bowlsbey of Rising Sun, MD and Robert L. Bowlsbey of North East, MD; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands: Erwin F. Ralston, who died Feb. 1, 1983 and Daniel G. Irwin who died on July 17, 1999.
