Edith Faye Hester Frazier, beloved wife, mother and friend passed away from this earth on Friday December 15th 2017 at the age of 92. Edith was born in Belgreen, Alabama on November 30th 1925 as the second child of William Edward Hester and Minnie Tompkins Hester. Edith is survived by her adoring and loving husband of 64 years, James A. Frazier. James states, “Edith is the love of my life and my soul mate.” Jim and Edith were married on September 12th, 1953 and have four children – Jane Payne of Richmond, Virginia, Victoria Frazier of Frenchtown, NJ, Jim Frazier of Denver, Colorado and Mark Frazier of Los Angeles, California. Edith and Jim moved their young family from Alabama to a farm in upstate New York pursuing their early careers in Science. Their next family move was to the Washington D.C. area where they lived for 26 years. Edith’s Masters degree in Microbiology from Auburn University garnered her a prestigious job at The National Institute of Health and then another at The Naval Medical Center both in Bethesda, Maryland. Once Edith’s four children were out on their own she used her spare time at age 60 to pursue a law degree from Northern Virginia Law School. Edith valued education and believed in setting and trying to achieve one’s goals. Edith’s legacy remains as the most loving, caring, giving person as witnessed and experienced by all of her family and friends. Edith never met a stranger and constantly put herself before others always seeing the positive side of life.
