Edith Baeder Cobb was born September 12, 1930. She lived 83 wonderful years before passing peacefully into the arms of her Lord on April 11, 2014 while surrounded by her family.
Edith was a life long resident of Madison County. She lived in the City of Huntsville, before making her home in Hazel Green, where she has lived the past 44 years.
Edith began her career working at Genesco Shoe. While employed with Genesco, She then went to beauty school and opened her own beauty shop, that she would operate in her home for over 40 years. After retiring as a beautician, she began working in the cafeteria at Madison Academy, which was followed by 15 wonderful years in the cafeteria at Hazel Green Elementary.
Edith was a devout Christian, giving her life to the LORD at an early age, she faithfully attended the Church of Christ for over 69 years. (Memorial Parkway Church of Christ, West Huntsville Church of Christ, Plainview Church of Christ and Shiloh Church of Christ).
Edith is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Cobb and Mitchell Baeder. She is also preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Ola Winsett Turner. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Turner and Martha Bozeman, and
one brother, Carlos Turner.
Edith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Aaron Corder. Her sons, Phil Baeder and Lynn Baeder. Her daughter-in -law, Julie Kenimer. Edith is also survived by two sisters, Elaine Nerren and her husband, Milton, and Melva Dean Mann. Edith is survived by two brothers, Forrest Turner, and Cleatus Turner. Edith is survived by 7 grand children and 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, beloved cousins, and dear friends.
Edith will be remembered as a strong, independent, hard working, loving mother and grandmother. She was a loyal friend with a servant’s heart, and a deep, committed, unwavering faith.
